2018 Sidney Gaines Memorial Scholarship

This year’s recipient is a senior at S.H. Rider High School. She has taken
Pre-AP classes as well as dual credit hours to prepare for college. She
has obtained 30 college hours as she graduates from high school. She
ranks 63rd in a class of 380 with a GPA of 4.2.
Ms. Walker belongs to the Mu Alpha Theta Math club, National Honor Society,
National Technical Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the
powerlifting team, and the dance team. She is part of a leadership
group known as 1A Team at church giving her the chance to teach
younger students about the work of GOD and show them you can
become a leader at any age. She has had the opportunity to attend
Student Leadership University Conferences and plans on attending one
in London this summer and one in Isreal and Jordan next summer. At
these conferences, she will learn true leadership begins at the feet of
Jesus, living in strength, humility, wisdom, and with the selfless heart of
a servant.
