Sidney Gaines Memorial Scholarship History

Sydney Gaines is a Past Master of Faith Lodge. He was born March 30,

1895 in New York City. He died December 30, 1988.

He was raised a Master Mason 3-31-1917 in Washington lodge No.

1117. He demitted from Washington lodge and became a member of

Faith Lodge 3-14-1921. He became the Worshipful Master of Faith

Lodge in 1923-24.

Following his death in 1988, his family found a life insurance policy and

willed it to Faith Lodge with the direction that a scholarship would be

established in his name. Faith Lodge has continued to offer this

scholarship since its inception.
